Personal Background: David London works at the University of Sydney in a Systems Administration and Workstation Support department. He administers UNIX and Microsoft workstations and servers. David is working in his spare time to get some Microsoft certification so he could hopefully get a promotion to a higher rank.

Victoria Veligodsky: Why did you start looking for a solution like that?

David London: I was looking for some sort of modem for Windows Server 2003 that would work in VMware Server. I am trying to learn about Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Networking and one of the things I need to do is connect two Virtual Machines using a modem.

VMware Server, however, doesn't have any modem hardware so I needed to find something additional.
Victoria Veligodsky: In which ways did you look and how did you find Virtual Modem PRO by Eltima Software?

David London: I did a lot of web searches and finally I realized that various forms of modem existed and serial port virtualization can be very possible. So I started searching for "virtual modem" instead of trying to find a hardware solution. Having spent a couple of minutes, I successfully found your Virtual Modem PRO.
Victoria Veligodsky: Did you try using other products for the same task before choosing Virtual Modem PRO? Why did you prefer our product?

David London: I tried competing virtual modem, but it crashed the Virtual Machine so then tried "Virtual Modem Pro" and it worked just fine: smoothly and reliably.
Victoria Veligodsky: What are you using Virtual Modem PRO now for?

David London: I am evaluating it (still in the 14 day trial) but so far it has performed pretty well. I think it is well suited for this task of learning Remote Access topics in a virtual environment.

Firstly, I got to know that virtual modems existed at all, as well as serial ports virtualization. And secondly, I am learning to work with virtual machines quicker.
Victoria Veligodsky: What was your personal benefit from using our Virtual Modem PRO?

David London: The software has enabled me to practice Remote Access setup/configuration and use in a Virtualized environment without having to get two Internet Connections and two phone lines.
