1. Launch Boomerang and Layout from within Instagram
Instagram Boomerang Boomerang allows creating GIF-like posts, Layout – creating a collage of multiple pictures. Download the apps on your device first, and next time you upload photos to Instagram, look out for Boomerang and Layout icons at the bottom of the post viewer. Tap them to navigate to the apps.

2. Put your favorite filters first
Instagram filters Instagram currently offers 23 filters, however we usually end up using one or two. To save yourself time and effort, you can reorder filters so your favorites are displayed first. Use ‘Manage’ box displayed at the end of the menu.

3. Get notified on posts by specific users
Tap three dots in the upper right corner of users’ posts or their profile and select ‘Turn On Post Notifications’. You’ll be notified when users upload pictures to Instagram.

4. View previously liked posts
Instagram liked posts Navigate to your profile, tap the gear icon to access your settings and in the ‘Account’ section tap ‘Posts You’ve Liked’.

5. Switch accounts
A lot of people have more than one account, e.g. one might be for personal use, while the other for business purposes. Instagram allows you to switch between upto five accounts, to add accounts go to Profile > Settings > Add Account. To switch between the accounts, tap your username and choose the account you want to switch to.

6. Remove photos you are tagged in
Other users can tag you when they upload pictures on Instagram, and these photos get saved in the Photos of You section on your profile page. To remove a tag, tap on the picture, then tap on Instagram handle displayed and select ‘Hide from My Profile’ or ‘Remove Me from Photo’ (see ‘More options’).

7. Send direct messages
Instagram direct messages Instagram has a messaging function, i.e. you can send notes, photos and videos to other users privately. To send a message, go to Direct menu – see an icon that looks like a drawer at the top-right of the Instagram homepage. Tap the cross icon, choose Send Photo or Video or Send Message.
