Pictures, Videos & iPhoto/Photos Albums Synchronization

SyncMate lets you sync folders with images and videos on your Mac, as well as iPhoto albums, with another Mac and other supported devices.

Only standard iPhoto albums can be synced among Macs. Standard albums are those that you create manually (File –> New Album; or Command-click to select the images and choose File –> New Album from Selection). Refer to iPhoto Help for details (“About photo albums” section).

Smart iPhoto albums synchronization is performed in one direction only (from Mac to device).

iPhoto albums can be synced from iOS device to Mac only.
Synchronization of folders with videos/pictures from Mac to iOS devices is possible in any direction. Please note that files copied from your Mac to your iOS device will not be available for usage, but for storage only.

Since SyncMate version 6.x, Photos picture manager by Apple is supported (since Yosemite 10.10.3).

If you are syncing from your Mac to the remote device, you can convert videos and pictures into another format. It is useful, if you need to make your files size smaller (compress them), because they may take up a lot of space on your hard drive, or the original file format is not supported by your device.

Let’s see how to sync pictures and videos by example of Android device:

1. Connect your device to Mac.
See the instruction on how to connect your Android device to Mac.
