Trying to sync data between Vivo phone running on Android with a Mac computer can be quite hectic, because they were not really meant to work in sync. Unlike when syncing Windows computers with Android phones, for Mac and Android combination you'll need to download a third-party app to achieve the best results, because Apple doesn't offer any native solution and Google has Android File Transfer utility, but it hasn't been updated since 2012.

1. SyncMate for Vivo and Mac

SyncMate Expert

Category: System
Requirements: OS X 10.8.5+, 50.74MB free space. Version 7.3.434. (26th Jan, 2019). 4.9 Rank based on 358+ users, Reviews(956)

The top of the list (not by chance, but thanks to its quality and versatility) is this app that offers synchronization options for your Vivo and Mac and some essential options additionally to syncing. It is not a file transfer app, it is a real sync tool that updates data on both devices according to your preferences.

SyncMate will sync contacts and calendars between Mac and Vivo phone, music and playlists, folders with files, browser bookmarks, etc. Additionally this app allows mounting your Vivo device as Mac disk, manage texts messages on Mac and manage and export call history on computer.

2. TunesGO for Vivo phones and Mac

This app is powerful enough for quality media files transfer. TunesGO allows you to install, uninstall, import and backup Android apps and media files, and manage contacts and text messages. It doesn't feature a syncing mechanism, only a transfer. And won't let you keep contacts and calendars up-to-date between devices.

3. doubleTwist for Vivo phones and Mac computers

doubleTwist is good for media files management and syncing between Vivo and Mac. Its Android client will help you keep media files well organized, and will sync and back up these files. Such an awesome app with lovely interface, however, it only works with media files leaving your contacts and calendars behind. No way to manage other types of files or text messages either.

4. Android File Transfer for Vivo phones and Mac

This is a native free tool that could greatly simplify data transfer between Mac and Vivo. Note, we are saying transfer as it doesn't really synchronize the data. It also doesn't work with personal data and can't transfer more than one file at a time.

5. Cloud services for Vivo and Mac

The utilities reviewed earlier are all direct sync or transfer, clouds won't sync your data directly, but if you don't mind adding an extra step, you may try them as well.

Dropbox is a file hosting service with cloud storage, file synchronization, and client software. You can upload your various files and access them from a Dropbox folder on your computer or phone or from its online interface and download online content to where you need to transfer it. This service won't help with personal data sync, just back it up to later unpack on device or computer.

Next cloud storage is SugarSync. This service offers a cloud space for files and folders transfer. The content you have in your storage can be shared with others. We liked the feature that it offers additionally to file transfer: removal of all synced files from your Mac in case of loss. This service doesn't work with personal data though.

Google Drive felt like the most convenient way to work with Mac and Vivo files, because it doesn't only host files, but also works with personal data like contacts and calendar events.
