Serial Splitter blocks FTDI Devices (Read 5222 times)
Serial Splitter blocks FTDI Devices on: July 16, 2014, 08:26:16 PM
G'Day,

I use the following two registry entries to preventing COM port runaway.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\usbflags]
"IgnoreHWSerNum04036001"=hex:01
"IgnoreHWSerNum04036010"=hex:01

So windows will ignore the serial number and it doesn't set every time a new com port number.
But when the splitter software ist running, i can't program the EEPROM of the FTDI device.

Does it give any solution for that problem?

Andreas

Can you make a screenshot of your Serial Splitter configuration?
What exactly indicates that the problem is caused by this software?

When I start the Eltima Serial Splitting & Sharing Serive I can't access the EEPROM of the FTDI. After closing of the service task it's no problem. But the problem exists only if I use the two reg entries. Later I can send you a screenshot of the configuration but I have tested all different settings.

Do you speak German?

We haven't been reported similar issues before, and can't really think of any way that Serial Splitter can cause such interference.

It's probably best that you contact the device manufacturer, and see if they might have any clues.

Sorry but that's not the answer I want to hear because the following http://www.serial-port-splitter.com/ Software doesn't has that problem, so I'm sure the Eltima Software causes the trouble. I hope you will find the solution otherwise I have to change the Software.
