USB Network Gate does not seem to work on OS X 10.11 El Capitan(Read 16680 times)
I have an iPhone 4S connected to a Windows 7 machine running USB Network Gate version 6.2 build 6.2.680.
I'm trying to connect to it from OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) running USB Network Gate Version 3.1 (333.5). The iPhone shows up in the remote tab and it appears to connect but neither iTunes nor Apple Configurator can detect the device. I verified that I can connect to the device from another Win7 machine and iTunes  detects the iPhone so it looks like an OS X specific issue. I just updated to 10.11 from 10.10 so it looks like El Capitan may have broken something with the OS X version.

Here is ioreg output showing no attached iPhone device after connecting:

Sorry, but El Capitan is not currently supported.

I'm assuming at some point it will be? You've got your top men working on this issue? You've got them working in shifts?

This will hopefully be addressed in the next update, but unfortunately we have no specific time frame set for it yet.

Hi there
I got a similar problem now that I updated from 10.10.to 10.11 (El Capitan). In my case the kernel extension driver crashes the whole MacBook Pro as soon as I try to start Parallels Desktop 11 running Win 7.
The panic report identifies the eltima kernel extension driver as the cause of that crash:

So now I sit here and have a really BIIIG problem. My question is:
WHEN WILL THERE BE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM OR AT LEAST A WORK-AROUND ???

How can I safely and completely uninstall the USB Network Gate software?

Thanks for your quick answer

BTW. You may copy the foregoing script into some .sh file and try to execute it on your system to check it works.

Regards,
Max

Hi Max
It seems that I can't find the foregoing script. Can you post it again please?
What does it do and is it safe enough to be run?

Thanks
Dan

I had the same exact issue. The uninstall instructions on the Eltima website just say to move the application to the trash which obviously doesn't remove the extensions.

I found the following stackoverflow post which has a script that removed the extensions. Parallels worked fine for me afterwards.

Actually, there is no need to run any third party scripts. You can uninstall all USB Network Gate components using our stock Uninstaller (select USB Network Gate > Uninstall USB Network Gate… from the menu bar).

In case USB Network Gate crashes at start-up and you're not able to get to that menu item, then just start up in safe mode and run the following command in Terminal:

Code: [Select]
sudo /Library/Frameworks/EveUSB.framework/Support/uninstall

This would be wonderful information to put in the wiki here http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/usb-mac.html instead of just telling people to drag the application in the Trash.

Here's what the uninstallation link says:
Code: javascript:void(0);

In Finder, click Applications.

Drag the app from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder – > Empty Trash.
When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your Mac.

That obviously doesn't remove all components.

Sorry, but El Capitan is not currently supported.

Any word on whether an update with El Capitan support will be available soon? Any update would be helpful. I haven't seen this issue mentioned in the blog.

Unfortunately no further details are available at this point.

@mknasiak same here.  Stumbled upon this software and have been searching for a workaround and there is actually no other software AT ALL for mac that can do this.  I'd love to purchase it but I would definitely need EL capitan support, if at all at least for the client.  Is there any "update" on the El Capitan fix?

We continue working on it, but still no word from our developers on the exact release date.

OS X 10.11.3 was just released. Is this the magic one that makes the client work? Any word from the devs?

Just wanted to add my voice to those looking for a working El Capitan version... I can virtually guarantee a purchase if I can get my iPad to connect in a development situation.

Is there any further news regarding El Capitan support? My company has purchased several server licenses but they're sitting idle since we can't run the client on OS X 10.11. Any information would be helpful so we can notify our own clients.  Thank you.
