Serial Simulator pass data to Device connected by USB(Read 1178 times)
Serial Simulator pass data to Device connected by USB on: February 09, 2019, 09:48:45 PM
I have a serial simulator software I downloaded from a vendor that allows me to choose the port it writes to. I've used your VSPD 9.0 software before to create a virtual pair between COM1 and COM2. I tell the simulator software to write on COM1 and a local Python program to read on COM2, and it works like a charm.

However, I am now trying to connect an external device plugged into my PC on COM4 via USB to read the output of the simulator. I have tried following the directions here: https://www.eltima.com/forum/index.php?topic=40874.0

I tried creating a complex bundle with a Virtual Input of COM1 and a Real Output of COM4, but nothing seems to be connecting. I'm not sure if my error is on the Eltima setup side or on my external device programming side. But figured I'd try to get some help here to ensure a proper setup. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hello,

Thank you for the question. I assume that you were testing Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO.

As for the issue. Please review Activity Log and also, I would recommend performing a reboot after creating Complex Bundle. In addition, please check if COM ports show correctly in the Device Manager.

Hi Sinewave - thanks for the test and report. Are you using any software with it?
