usb to eth 3.0.6.391 some clients fail to connect (did work)(Read 11223 times)
We have been using usb to ethernet ver 3.0.6.391. We attach to a registered copy to use a security dongle. Now all of a sudden, some clients can not connect to the shared device. I have reset the client and "server" side with no luck. When i try to connect to the shared device (still shows) it just hangs and never attaches. I can go right over to another machine and connect with no problem.

Ideas?

Would you be so kind to do the following:

1) Please, try to share the USB port which is empty, connect to it from remote side. Now, plug in the device to the shared port for it to appear at a client, thus bypassing the server system. Will it connect this way?

2) Please, try to share another USB device and connect from the client PC   which can not connect to the shared security dongle.

If the problem is not fixed, please provide us with information:
* Let us know your order ID.
* Please tell us whether you was able to connect from client PC before? If yes, then what has happened before the problems occurred?
* Could you please specify your step-by-step actions, what exactly you do and where, so we can reproduce your actions and see where exactly the problem occurs.

You see, we will use your instructions to  reproduce the problem you have encountered when using this product.

Please do not post your order ID and any other Registration information online. It shoudn't be done for security purposes.

Now it appears that the clients are losing the ablilty to connect after being installed 14 days.

10 clients installed w/o any reg info
1 host machine installed with reg info.

host is sharing 1 port, works fine until 14 days then client can connect.

also how can i delete the reg info from a machine? i added the info in my machine to try and test the prob, no i cant remove it. wont let me start the software since the other machine (host) is on the network.

Nothing has changed on any of the clients except for the time.

Dear Sir,  please make sure that on your Server PC and Client  PCs  the latest versions  of USB to Ethernet Connector are installed:  http://www.eltima.com/download/usb-over-ethernet/  if it doesn't fix the problem, inform us the following:

1)   What are your  OS versions.
2)   Which device exactly you attempted to share (type and model)?
3)   Please send us  u2ec.log  file (...\Program Files\Eltima Software\USB to Ethernet Connector\ u2ec.log)
4)   What you mean exactly by “ losing the ablilty to connect”?
5)   Please specify your step-by-step actions, what exactly you do and where, so we can reproduce your actions and see where exactly the problem occurs.

You see, the more details you provide, the easier it will be for us to suggest a solution.

You are right, USB to Ethernet Connector on client computers doesn't require registration. Please be informed that after 14 days you will not be  able to share devices any more. Please  open Remote USB Devices tab to manage your client connections.

I kindly ask you to make sure that Registration information on your Server PC  entered correctly:
