Unable to Establish Connection(Read 14127 times)
Unable to Establish Connection on: March 06, 2008, 12:01:11 AM
Hello,

Doing the 14 day demo on Windows 2003 Server (32Bit) and cannot do even a localhost connection to any of the USB Ports.

Port List under Remote USB Devices shows "Port3 on Localhost (Waiting for Connection)"

and activity log shows

"localhost:3538": Unable to establish connection

continuously.

Thanks.

Hello,

Please make sure that your device is plugged into shared USB port on your Server PC.

OK,

I did install a device on the server and did a successful localhost connection.

Then I set up a virtual server running W2003 Server 64Bit, tried to connect (both servers are on the same subnet, in the same domain - no firewalls running - no Windows firewall active)

and the Remote Devices item shows "Port 1 (Unknown Device) on SERVER1 (Waiting for Connection)

the Logs on the Server2 show continuous repeating..

"Server1:3537": Connection Established
"Server1:3537": unable to establish connection
"Server1:3537": Connection Established
"Server1:3537": unable to establish connection
...

On Server1 the logs show continuous..

"\Port1 (Unknown Device)" the following host was connected to the shared device" Server2.testdomain
The following device is available for sharing: Unknown Device, "\Port1"
"\Port1 (Unknown Device)" the following host was connected to the shared device" Server2.testdomain
The following device is available for sharing: Unknown Device, "\Port1"
....

I then installed on a WXP workstation and made a successful connection.

Anything bad about connections from windows 64bit to Windows 32Bit?

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Dear Sir, please make sure that on your PCs the latest versions of USB to Ethernet Connector are installed: http://www.eltima.com/download/usb-over-ethernet/ if it doesn't fix the problem, try to reboot your PC, plug the device into another USB port and share it. After that, please connect to the USB device.

Tried all that and still have the same problem.

Can connect fine at the localhost but the remote 64Bit windows machine continuously connects - disconnects - connects - disconnects - ,,,

over and over.  never sticks.

???

We are currently investigating the problem you reported. Please provide us with information:

1) Which device exactly you attempted to share (type and model)?

2) Did you try to share another USB device and connect from the clientPC?

4) Test whether the problem occurs on another PCs.
