Listen port traffic by Advanced serial port terminal on: February 23, 2009, 03:20:17 PM
Dear all,
I'm new to this product.  I've a device, which can dial to a remote server and receive response from the it.  However, sometimes the device cannot get complete response from the server.  I want to use the Advanced serial port terminal to listen to the response for further toubleshooting.  My configuration is something like that:  I use a telephone splitter, one connects to the device, the another one connects to the modem port(RJ11) of a notebook.  When the device dials out, the signal will go to the host and the notebook as well.  It's supposed that the signal will go through the modem.  Can I use the tool to capture the incoming data in HEX?  Please help.

We deeply apologize for delay with reply.

We would recommend you to look at Serial Port Monitor. This product will hopefully be the solution you seek. Please be informed that Serial Port Monitor displays, logs and analyzes all serial data exchange between serial devices and any application. This tool is ideal to monitor serial communication, all data that was sent to and received from COM RS232/422/485 port, all events that were sent to port by an application and the status of these events.
