Edit decompiled action scripts on: December 27, 2009, 09:53:21 PM
HI
I'm a newbie to this forum and the sowftware. I downloaded the trial version first to see if I can acces all components of the .swf file - and it does.

I was also under the impression that I would be able to edit actionscripts, hence the purchase of a licence.

Can somebody please help me, maybe I'm missing something.

My whole purchase was to edit actionscripts

ANy help would be appreciated, You may email me also ray_AT_chapter3.net.nz if you can help with a solution

With kind regards from New Zealand

Ray

Flash Decompiler Trillix for Windows doesn't feature editing ActionScript and it can be tested with Flash Decompiler Trillix demo version:
http://www.eltima.com/products/flashdecompiler/

In order to edit ActionScript in your SWF file, you should convert your SWF file to its source FLA with Flash Decompiler Trillix and edit resulting FLA in Adobe Flash.

Thanks Travis for your reply.

I've managed to extract all the .fla and .as files that are placed in one root folder. I've changed the actionscript .as file. How do I now convert the root folder back to swf file.

Your help would be very much appreciated.

Happy New Year from New Zealand

First, please, make sure that you perform conversion (http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/flash-decompiler-trillix-windows/how-convert.html) not extraction
(http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/flash-decompiler-trillix-windows/how-extract-from-swf.html).

After converting your SWF file to its source FLA and editing it, resulting FLA can be published back to SWF in Adobe Flash (http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/?promoid=BPDEE).

Thanks Travis

I thought that may be the case. Flash is not an area I am comfortable with. I will try your suggestion and figure out the .fla files and associated .as - this is where I get lost I need to edit a particular .as file within a directory structure but am not sure how to publish to include al the directories.

But thank you for your help - it is very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Ray

If you still fail to publish resulting FLA back to SWF in Adobe Flash, please, send the original SWF file to us at support_AT_eltima.com with the detailed description of the actions which you take.
