Scheduling Problem(Read 11889 times)
Scheduling Problem on: May 25, 2010, 10:51:42 AM
Hi,

we need to restart a application (as service) periodically.

We try to use this configuration:
app2srv.exe INSTALL
/SN="TCLANManager"
/PM="F:\Priva\Top Control 6.2 Deutsch\Common\TCLANManager.exe"
/WD="F:\Priva\Top Control 6.2 Deutsch\Common"
/UT=30 /UPR
/SCD="00:01:00|||||D127"
/SCD="||08:00:00|||D127"
/SCD="08:01:00|||||D127"
/SCD="||10:00:00|||D127"
/SCD="10:01:00|||||D127"
/SCD="||12:00:00|||D127"
/SCD="12:01:00|||||D127"
/SCD="||14:00:00|||D127"
/SCD="14:01:00|||||D127"
/SCD="||16:00:00|||D127"
/SCD="16:01:00|||||D127"
/SCD="||23:59:00|||D127"
/DISP="TCLANManager"

But this does'nt work responsible. After 1-2 days the application will not start anymore.

1)
Is there an easier way to tell aas that a service should be restarted after 6 hours?

if not,
2)
What's wrong with our configuration?

3)
Is there a possibility to write any kind of event - protocol to figure out if wether the service or aas causes the problem?

Thank you,
regards

Tino

Dear Tino,

You may start the service at the certain time using graphical user interface or command line options. We recommend using GUI until you get more experience: http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/application-as-service/schedule-tab.html

Please, select your service in the "Services list" and click "Edit" in Main menu, then go to "Advanced" and make sure that in "Upon program exit" you haven't specified "Shutdown the service". In order to ensure your service will be launched again once it is failed, please, go to Main menu -> Edit -> Recovery and choose Restart the service in Computer's response in case of service failure.

Please, check the Event Viewer, there might be details of service failure and send them to us for investigation.
