Syncmate and Nested Folders to USB(Read 6738 times)
Syncmate and Nested Folders to USB on: June 18, 2010, 11:56:31 PM
Hello I'm new to Syncmate and am using Expert 2.5.0.922.

I have a straightforward query - will Syncmate syc 'nested folders' that is folders within a folder when only the top level folder is defined in the Folder Plugin or Connection settings.

As the title says this is to a USB stick from a MacBook using Snow Leopard.

Not working for me at the minute and I can find no settings that relate to it.

Many Thanks

Andy  :)

Update - I have now discovered that it will sync nested folders when the sub-folder contains something
BUT
it will not synch an empty sub-folder (i.e. copy the empty sub-folder into the Master folder on the USB).

Is this correct please ?

If so could Eltima consider an enhancement in a future build ? When starting a project I tend to create many empty sub-folders inside a Master folder and then populate them as the project proceeds.

Many Thanks

Andy  :)

Yes, this is exactly how SyncMate works. It syncs only folders which contain files. If a folder is empty, SyncMate skips this folder.

Currently we are not planning to add empty folders sync.

Thanks Travis,

Although I could use an 'empty-folder sync' it doesn't detract from it working beautifully with folders across two Apple Macs. :)
