to Cloud Storage

Olga Weis

In the previous article we spoke about remote torrent files download from the cloud. Here we will tell you how to download torrent directly to a cloud disk with the help of uTorrent and CloudMounter.

Torrent to cloud

CloudMounter is an application that allows mounting storage services on Mac so you can view and browse the data stored there as if it were on the local drive. Services supported include Microsoft One Drive, Amazon S3, Dropbox and Google Drive, choose the one that suits your needs best and mount it on your Mac. Go to the settings of your torrent manager, i.e. uTorrent, and enable ‘Put new downloads in’ setting, choose a folder in the cloud service. Next time you do a uTorrent download, the file goes directly to the specified folder.

With the torrent location on the cloud you can access it from anywhere

CloudMounter

Apart from mounting your cloud storage services, CloudMounter also enables connecting to remote servers via FTP/ SFTP/ FTPS and WebDAV protocols. Thus you get a single point of access to all your online data. Unlike native client apps offered by the services, CloudMounter does not synchronize your data locally and on the cloud. This means your data is not duplicated and after uploading your data online you get to free up precious space on your local hard drive. Using CloudMounter is easy, the app window looks like a connections manager where each of supported services is assigned a button. Click on it, enter your login credentials – it is done through native APIs and totally secure – and you are connected to the service. You can connect to all cloud services at a time; their number is not limited. The app saves a torrent on your local drive only when you choose to open it from there. The developer added encryption functionality in the latest release thus providing even more security to your data.
