Future Plans for Typeeto
Typeeto is a powerful tool already, but still has a long way to go. We receive a lot of positive feedback from our clients and would like to express you our sincerest appreciation. This article is aimed to bring our future and improvement plans for Typeeto to your attention.
Here are some improvements which we're going to make for Typeeto:
The most requested feature right now is support for Sony PlayStation 3 and 4. We want to assure you that we are constantly working in this direction and searching for possible methods to implement it. Unfortunately, due to limitations of Sony proprietary system it is currently impossible to emulate wireless keyboard for PlayStation consoles. We should say we are not the only ones suffering from this issue and it is not caused by Typeeto. We are working on it hoping to resolve it very soon.
The other frequently requested option is compatibility with Apple TV 4th generation. The 4th generation of AppleTV with previous versions of tvOS did not support Bluetooth keyboards. However, with the release of tvOS 9.2 Apple TV 4 lets you pair Bluetooth keyboards for wireless navigating and typing in tvOS. This all means that you can again use a full-scale keyboard on Apple TV 4 with the help of Typeeto, as well as 2 and 3 generations.
Another top problem we are working on is language switching in mobile devices running under iOS 9. Many of you use Typeeto for iPhones, iPads and iPods, and surely you keep the devices updated. As you might have noticed, CMD+Space no longer works for switching keyboard layout, if you use hardware keyboard, now it is assigned to Spotlight. This is not a bug or malfunction of Typeeto, but a new thing of iOS platform itself. Since the latest version, the layout is switched with Fn key, which brings the language menu upfront. However, due to the fact that Typeeto replicates the actual keyboard characters, not commands, there is some conflict with Fn key emulation. Because of its core system functionality it is rather hard to intercept the keystroke and send it to the device. This problem is currently being researched by our developers and we are close to resolving it, so stay tuned for updates.
So far, these are our main goals for the upcoming versions of Typeeto. If you have any other feature requests or suggestions do not hesitate to contact our customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org and follow our social network accounts to get the latest news: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube.
