Configure Settings for Remote Mac and Windows PC

This plugin lets you change connection settings for remote Mac or Windows PC, depending on the connection type.

Connection settings for remote Mac

This plugin displays connection settings, which you customized while establishing connection with the remote Mac. You can change these settings in future, if required. Don’t forget to click “Apply changes” button, once all settings are configured.

1. Connection icon

You can select remote Mac icon if you wish. This icon will be displayed in “Devices list” area. To choose the picture, click “Select picture” button.

2. Connection name

Connection name is the name of the remote Mac. It will be reflected under connection icon in “Devices list” area.

3. IP-address (hostname) of the remote Mac is displayed here automatically once you’ve added connection with it. If IP-address (hostname) of the remote Mac was changed, don’t forget to indicate it here.

Since SyncMate 3.0, you can specify all possible IP addresses used by synced device to conveniently sync it with your Mac from any location. Multiple IPs should be comma-separated.

4. In “Connection password” field SyncMate automatically pastes connection password of the remote Mac once you’ve added connection with it (password protection can be enabled in Incoming connections plugin).

If this password was changed on the remote Mac, enter the new password here in order to be able to connect to the remote Mac to perform the synchronization.

If “Remember connection password” checkbox is not ticked, password will be requested each time you try to connect to the remote Mac

5. Check “Disable encryption for synced data” box when syncing two Macs. This will help to reduce CPU load and thus increase the sync speed.

Connection settings for remote Windows PC

This plugin displays connection settings, which you customized while establishing connection with the remote Windows PC. You can change these settings in future, if required. Don’t forget to click “Apply changes” button, once all settings are configured.

1. Connection icon

You can select remote Windows PC icon if you wish. This icon will be displayed in “Devices list” area. To choose the picture, click “Select picture” button.

2. Connection name

Connection name is the name of the remote Windows PC. It will be reflected under connection icon in “Devices list” area.

3. IP-address (hostname) of the remote Windows PC is displayed here automatically once you’ve added connection with it. If IP-address (hostname) of the remote Windows PC was changed, don’t forget to paste it here.

4. In “Connection password” field SyncMate automatically pastes connection password of the remote Windows PC once you’ve added connection with it (password protection can be enabled in SyncMate module for Windows).

If this password was changed on the remote Windows PC, enter the new password here in order to be able to connect to the remote Windows PC to perform the synchronization.

If “Remember connection password” checkbox is not ticked, password will be requested each time you try to connect to the remote Windows PC.

5. “Sync with” option permits to choose the application on Windows PC, with which SyncMate will sync your Mac’s Address Book, iCal events, To Dos/Reminders of iCal, Mail notes, Entourage notes, Stickies and Safari Bookmarks, depending on the plugin.
