SyncMate 7.x Known Issues

  • When syncing calendars between two Macs, the Cmd+Del command does not delete calendar events.
  • If data is modified while sync is still in progress, certain changes might not be applied.
  • The Related Names field of iPhone contacts is not synced to the Address Book on the Mac. Contacts, if synced back to the device, will not include this field.
  • Changes to the bookmarks on an iOS device (editing or deletion) are not synced to the Safari bookmarks on the Mac.
  • Syncing of folders from the Mac to an iOS device is possible in either direction, however the files copied from the Mac to the iOS device will not be available for usage, only for storage.
  • Because FTP servers mounted as drives with the OS X Finder have read-only access, sync is available only in the direction from the drive to the Mac.
  • If you get a Sync Failed error when trying to sync contacts and calendars, most likely you didn’t grant SyncMate access to your contacts and calendars on first start. See this page for a solution.
  • Photos library may freeze if there is a large number of images in Photos app. See this page to find more information about this issue.
  • Outlook (Microsoft Live):
    • Contacts sync works only in one direction: from Outlook to the Mac.
    • Only one-time events are synced; recurring events are not supported.
    • An all-day event is displayed as a two-day event when synced to Outlook. This issue is related to the inner workings of Outlook and is not a bug in SyncMate.
