Virtual Modem Installation

You can install virtual modems to the target system in two ways: manually (by editing Windows Registry) or by importing the Registry file (which should be created beforehand). You can accomplish the latter by executing the following command:

REG IMPORT [YOUR_FILENAME].reg

For example, a registry file may look the following way:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ELTIMA Software\VirtualModems]
"COM1"="5500"
"COM9"="5042"

The full path to the service location is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ELTIMA Software\VirtualModems

There is only one type of keys that Virtual Modem PRO supports: the serial port number which the virtual port will be attached to. The value is a TCP port on which the virtual modem will listen to incoming connections (a server port) or connect to (a client port). Please, note that virtual modem can be either client or server at one time.
