Renaming Virtual Serial Ports with VSPD Pro

Virtual Serial Port Driver Pro is able to provide your system with an unlimited number of virtual serial ports. All ports created using the software can be seen in the Device Manager of your computer, which means they can be easily recognized and accessed by all software/hardware you install.

By default, the created virtual serial ports are named as follows: ELTIMA Virtual Serial Port. We are glad to offer you the possibility to change names of virtual serial ports, created by VSPD Pro.

Below is the command that will let you change the name “ELTIMA Virtual Serial Port” to “Eltima Software Virtual Serial Port” so that you can see the procedure of ports renaming.
Test the ports renaming feature by using this command:

vspdxp_install.exe /c “FE50Eltima Software Virtual Serial Port”

By default, vspdxp_install.exe is located in the folder where you installed VSPD Pro:

C:\Program Files\Eltima Software\Virtual Serial Port Driver Pro 9.0\.

Note: The code (4 symbols) uniquely corresponds to the custom name (in our example to ‘Eltima Software Virtual Serial Port’). If you execute this command with any other four digits or name, the ports name will be set to default (Eltima Virtual Serial Port).

If you would like to have your ports renamed, start with sending us the desired ports name. We will generate the code bound to this name and send it back to you. We assume that this option will be especially useful for the OEM users. The renaming ports option costs USD 300.

When placing your order, please provide the full name of the virtual port (the one you want to be shown in the Device Manager) when asked for additional details or comments. You can place the order for virtual serial ports renaming here.
