Serial to Ethernet Connector
Share and access Serial port over Ethernet

The COM appliance you would like to operate is situated far away from your present location? Serial over Ethernet Connector will definitely be a handy tool in such case. This piece of software will allow you to utilize your serial appliance as if it was actually attached to your machine, transferring serial data over the network. With RS232 to Ethernet Connector from Eltima, you may have as many COM devices connected to your PC as you require, making the lack of actual
serial ports irrelevant.
Also available on Linux OS and Windows Mobile

Share RS232 over Ethernet

RS232 to Ethernet Connector supports a high number of simultaneous connections allowing you to utilize not less than five hundred serial devices at the same time.

  • Using COM over Ethernet in Server mode

Being able to work with the serial device from multiple remote computers has never been easier. Every distant machine (client) is able to connect to the shared device on the host machine (server) and transfer serial data with the help of COM to Ethernet Connector
  • Using Client connection to access serial over Ethernet

To be able to connect to the remote host and enable data transferring over the network a client type of connection needs to be created. However, Serial to Ethernet is not necessarily required on the distant machine, if the software you are using is able to establish the outgoing TCP connections. The data exchange between the client and the server will start immediately after configuring the outbound connection and connecting to the remote host.
  • Using UDP to share RS232 over Ethernet

The main advantage of using User Datagram Protocol in COM to Ethernet Connector is that all transmitted data can be exchanged via LAN. What is more, the data transfer via UDP does not need our application on the distant computer.
  • Serial to Ethernet Connector now supports Linux OS

Despite being the command-line version of the product at the moment, it provides exactly the same functionality as the Windows version, making Serial to Ethernet Connector a cross-platform tool. Select whether Linux or Windows OS will serve as a client or server.

Download Serial to Ethernet Connector for Linux OS now!

From now on you can use the Linux version of the app with ARM-based computers either to share serial ports through Ethernet or connect to them. Note: D-Bus needs to be installed on your device to use this version.
