Map COM port to IP
You can map an impressive amount of serial ports at a time and work with a pretty much unlimited amount of devices connected to remote COM ports.
-
Share and map serial ports over IP
Once you have a COM port device shared on a server computer you can use serial port mapper to access that device from any remote computer (a client) and use the device as if it was directly connected to the client machine. -
Connecting a Client to remote serial port
With the device shared on a server machine, you won't even need to install Serial to Ethernet Connector to establish a client connection (as long as the app connecting to a mapped port is able to establish an outgoing TCP connection). -
Using UDP to map RS232
User Datagram Protocol is supported by serial port mapper and offers higher speed and more devices are added to the list of supported ones. When the data transfer is performed via UDP our application is also not needed on a client computer. -
Map COM port on Linux OS
Serial port mapper is a cross-platform solution that supports Windows and Linux operating systems. The latter is currently the command-line version, however it provides exactly the same functionality as the Windows one.

ARM-based Linux computers are also supported by Serial to Ethernet Connector for sharing and accessing COM ports over network. Note: install D-Bus on your computer to use this version.
